Reflected Joy 2
a composition for piano by Robert Train Adams
masterlist
: piano
Duration
2 minutes
Description
Like the previous Reflected Joy,
this piece is based on themes from my son Jeremy's then-upcoming wedding
to Amanda Riegle. The flavor of Jesu, Joy is quite evident, with
the Beethoven Ode to Joy presence quite subtle at the beginning
(hints in the left hand 7 measures in; a much stronger statement towards
the end of the piece in the treble clef). Although nobody would call this
a neo-Baroque piece, it flows more gracefully than its companion work
largely because of the 12/8 time signature and the three-measure open-ended
phrases.
